WebNewsworthiness is the term used to describe whether or not a topic is interesting enough for people to want or need to know. It’s the first thing the Media Relations team considers before pitching a story or drafting a press release. WebFrom this perspective, news selection and production is shaped by public interests and consumer demand, the sovereignty of professional journalistic values, equal competition for media access by a diversity of news sources, and the collective values of a society built around more or less organic consensus.
